BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

 

Christopher T. Rash is the Environmental and Chemical Safety Manager at the EERC, where he develops, implements, and maintains environmental and hazardous materials programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. In this capacity, Mr. Rash consults on hazardous materials and environmental activities for laboratory and pilot plant research activities, interpreting and providing guidance on regulations; conducts risk assessments and initiates controls; investigates incidents and concerns to identify improvement strategies; and develops and provides training. Mr. Rash holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Chemistry from Baylor University. He is a Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals). Prior to his position at the EERC, he served as a Senior Hazmat Specialist and Chemical Hygiene Officer at the University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, Texas.

 

Mr. Rash is a dedicated and successful safety professional and hazardous materials expert with a background in environmental compliance, program development, and emergency response. He is skilled in hazardous material risk assessment, handling, storage, use, and disposal, including materials regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Homeland Security, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Mr. Rash is a subject matter expert on the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, and Dangerous Goods Shipping.
